The Superyacht Charities support RSP Transatlantic Campaign

We are very pleased to announce that The Superyacht Charities, has donated £11,000 towards the Rona Sailing Project’s “Rendezvous 2017” - Transatlantic Tall Ships Race campaign. Rona II will participate in this international youth event which will see her race and cruise from Southampton, to Greenwich, then onwards to Portugal and Bermuda, before visiting ports on the East Coast of America and Canada. Each leg will be crewed by young people under the age of 25, under the watchful eye of some of our most experienced and qualified volunteers.

This money, very gratefully received, was raised at the Superyacht Charities’ 2016 Superyacht Gala Ball, and represents only part of what was raised, with the Antibes Lifeboat and Sail4Cancer also being supported. The money received will be used to provide bursary support to those young people for whom the amount needed to participate in this event would otherwise be out of reach.

For further information on the campaign including information on crew spaces and sponsorship opportunities, please contact either Brid Barrett,  Project Director, or Gareth Parker, RSP “Rendezvous 2017” Campaign Chairman.
