Points of Light Award: We are delighted to share the news that our very own Chris Wolley MBE, (Volunteer Trustee, Skipper and Chief Instructor) has been awarded the Points of Light Award for August 2015. The Points of Light award, which is presided over by the Cabinet Office at Number 10, recognises outstanding individuals – people who are making a change in their community and inspiring others.
In accepting the award Chris said
“I am deeply honoured, humbled and grateful to receive this award. I am just one of very many volunteers in the Rona Sailing Project without whom the Project could not operate. I believe this award reflects their contribution just as much as my own. A big thank you to all of our volunteers.”
While this award does indeed reflect the organisation as whole we retain the right to be very proud of Chris! We have to agree with those in Number 10 that he is an outstanding individual, making real changes in his community and inspires generations of people from all walks of life.
