The Rona Sailing Project is offering a unique opportunity to join Rona II or Donald Searle to participate in the 2023 edition of the Round the Island Race. Individual berths are offered on Rona II, an Oyster 68, for only £400 per person for the weekend.
Donald Searle, an Ocean 75 is available for a group or corporate charter for up to 12 people for the weekend.
The race regularly attracts over 1,300 boats and around 10,000 sailors, making it one of the largest yacht races in the world and the fourth largest participation sporting event in the UK after the London Marathon and the Great North and South Runs. Starting at the Royal Yacht Squadran line in Cowes, the fleet races westabout, to the Needles, round St Catherine’s point and Bembridge Ledge buoy, and back into the Solent to the finish line at Cowes.

Crew will join the vessel at Premier Universal Marina (SO31 7ZN) early afternoon on Friday 30th of June. Following crew familiarisation and training in the Solent we will set set sail for Cowers mooring overnight on the Trinity Landing pontoon. After a hearty breakfast the following morning, you will then take part in the Round the Island Race on Saturday July 1st, arriving back at Cowes later in the day for a celebratory crew meal on board the vessel, before joining the festivities ashore in the lively Race Village.
On Sunday morning, after another hearty breakfast on board, you will sail back across the Solent to Premier Universal Marina, arriving mid-afternoon and after lunch on board, you will be able to disembark.
All wet weather clothing, safety kit, meals and refreshments whilst on board the yacht are provided for the duration of the voyage. This is a unique opportunity to participate in the world-famous race on board some of the largest yachts to take part in the race, in support of a fantastic cause. Spaces are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.

The Rona Sailing Project is a sail training charity and all funds raised from the Round the Island Race will go directly into equipping our vessels or to support young people to sail with us.
No experience is necessary, however please note that all crew need to be at least 18 years of age, unless part of a corporate/group booking.
