The refit season got off to a flying start in November. Merrilyn is in the shed and is undergoing a major refit which will include a new engine. Lady Shona is also out of the water and she underwent her annual refit weekend on the 28th and 29th of November, which coincided with the first Rona Sailing Project Christmas Party, where Santa himself turned up!
Volunteer Afterguard have been helping with the refit during the week and over the past few weekends and a lot has been done. We also had some crew volunteer as well including a group from MIND and a group from Phoenix Futures, who not only did loads of work, but also had a lot of fun at the Project.
A lot of work has been done to date so thanks to all who have participated so far. We will be in the refit season until March 2016, so loads of opportunity to get involved if you have the time. Please contact the office if you would like to learn more about our refit programme and how you can help. We are only four in the office so need all the help we can get to make sure our boats are in top condition for the 2016 season.
