At the Rona Sailing Project we are thrilled and proud to share the great news that Paul Bishop, Race Director at Sail Training International has been awarded an MBE in the King’s New Year honours list. The MBE recognises Paul’s dedicated service to Sail Training with young people.
Paul was the Project Organiser for nine years from 1995 – 2004 which was a time of huge change for the Rona Sailing Project. He has been involved in sailing and particularly sail training for his whole life is and incredibly well respected nationally and internationally within the industry.
Paul said he was ‘it came as quite a surprise so absolutely delighted that my career over the last four decades in the ship and training industry has been recognised‘
Many of us have enjoyed sailing, and working, with him. We are hard pushed to think of a more deserving person to be given this honour and the RSP would like to extend our warmest congratulations to Paul and his family.
