Now that we are on the Wonderful donation platform, making a donation has never been easier or more effective. Through the platform you can make a secure, bank-to-bank transfer meaning that there are no costs to you or us and we get 100% of the donation immediately. Furthermore, we can claim Gift Aid on all eligible donations.
We are looking forward to a busy 2023 season. Many of our voyages are nearly fully booked and we look forward to welcoming at least ten new schools on board. By only passing on an estimated one third of the actual voyage cost to trainees, we keep sailing accessible and affordable to a diverse range young people from all over the UK. We also aim to provide bursaries to those who cannot afford the full voyage fee. We do not believe that money should be a barrier to sailing.
Our voyages are run exclusively by highly trained, committed, and experienced volunteers so our operational costs remain incredibly low. We are fortunate to be able to depend on a team of expert volunteers to maintain and refit our vessel, however running large commercial sail training vessels is expensive and so we still depend on voluntary donations for such things as sails waterproofs and lifesaving equipment such as lifejackets and harnesses.
All donations make a massive difference to us as a volunteer-based charity running life changing voyages for hundreds of people every year.
